PLACES TO GO AND THINGS TO DO

Rideau Canal paddle. Photo by Terry SpragueThere are plenty of hiking trails, and an abundance of lakes, bays, and other suitable areas that offer opportunities for canoeing and hiking. This page will gradually expand to include new ideas for those who enjoy these pastimes. Below, you will find information about hiking opportunities at Sandbanks, the Millennium Trail, winter hiking and cross-country skiing. There's lots to come so check this page monthly.

This is definitely the time of the year to take advantage of the many paddling opportunities in eastern Ontario. One of the favourites for kayakers and canoeists is the Rideau Canal. This photo was taken during a guided tour in the Newboro area.
