The following photos are truly a case of being in the right place at the right time. John Demers of Thomasburg had stopped at a popular pull off area overlooking Prince Edward Bay at Prince Edward Point to see what was around to observe and photograph. He was just returning to his car when he heard a gull screaming and was able to capture this series of photos of a Bald Eagle carrying an American Eel in its talons, with a Herring Gull in hot pursuit. The gull dive-bombed the eagle in an effort to claim the prize; however, the final outcome wasn’t photographed as the two birds very quickly disappeared behind the line of trees between the road and high cliff edge.  All photos by John Demers of Thomasburg.
