The roots release biochemicals into the soil that hinder the growth of surrounding plants, therefore allowing them to form dense colonies.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About Quinte Conservation:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Quinte Conservation is a community-based environmental protection agency that serves 18 municipalities in the watersheds of the Moira, Napanee and Salmon Rivers, and Prince Edward County.
