Earth Day – Seniors for Climate

Seniors For Climate will celebrate Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22 at 3:30 pm in Napanee.

Come and see the new documentary, Later is Too Late, highlighting the growing movement of seniors fighting for a sustainable future. Listen to the federal election candidates in our riding as they share their party’s climate change policies. Q&A time will be available: Contribute with your voice.

The Moderator will be Nathan Townend, Warden of Lennox and Addington County Council: his enthusiasm for environmental initiatives will be welcome.

His message is: “I’m so grateful to Seniors for Climate for providing this opportunity for citizens of L&A to discuss the importance of real climate and environmental action with local candidates.”

A powerful new documentary, Later is Too Late, is directed by award-winning filmmaker Nancy Nicol, and showcases seniors challenging policymakers, corporations, and public perception as they fight for a better future for their children and grandchildren. Long-time activist David Suzuki, now 89, makes a compelling case for change as do several Indigenous activists.

All are welcome at the Earth Day activities from 3:30 – 5:30 pm at the Best and Bash Arena (Large Lounge upstairs), 16 McPherson Drive, Napanee. There is no charge and refreshments will be served. See the poster. For more information, contact Barb Linds at 613-532-1856 or b.linds@mac.com
