TUFTED DUCK (Huron): Max Segler found one at Exeter Sewage Lagoons on May 3
that was seen by many to at least May 6.

Eared Grebe (Essex): Ken Burrell found one off Marentette Beach May 6 that
was reported again May 7.
Eared Grebe (Toronto): The one found by Hervé Tremblay at Colonel Sam Smith
Park on April 28 continued to at least May 5, with a second bird also
present on May 5.

Western Grebe (Toronto): The bird at Colonel Sam Smith Park was reported
again May 3.

Yellow Rail (Chatham-Kent): Jim Burk found one on private property in South
Kent on May 3.
Yellow Rail (Hamilton): Markus Legzdins, George Preiksaitis, Jude Szabo and
Rich Poort found one at 5th Road East in Stoney Creek on May 8 that was
heard by several others again May 9.
Yellow Rail (Peterborough): Leo Weiskittel found one calling at Miller
Creek on May 6 that has been subsequently heard by many to at least May 9
with a high of three individuals reported on May 9.
Yellow Rail (Wellington): The one found by Dan and Desmond MacNeal on May 1
at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre in Guelph continued to at least May 7.

BLACK-NECKED STILT (Lambton): Robert Buchanan photographed one at the
Brigden Lagoons on May 7.
BLACK-NECKED STILT (Middlesex): The one found by Mark Bakelaar at Strathroy
Sewage Lagoons on April 9 continued to at least May 9.

Laughing Gull (THUNDER BAY): Aarre Ertolahti photographed one at the Navy
Yard in Thunder Bay on May 9.

Pacific Loon (Norfolk): Mike Hallett reported one at Long Point Provincial
Park on May 8.
Pacific Loon (Toronto): Up to two birds continued again this week off Tommy
Thompson Park to at least May 7.

TRICOLORED HERON (Chatham-Kent): Presumably the bird Nancy DeMoor
photographed near Keith McLean CA on May 2 was reported from McGeachy Pond
on May 4 by Morgan O’Brien and Mariah Kaak. Brett Fried photographed one
near MItchells Bay on May 5.
TRICOLORED HERON (Niagara): Marcie Jacklin found one at Wainfleet Wetlands
on May 5 that was seen by several observers.
TRICOLORED HERON (Simcoe): Roy Chatburn found one in Collingwood on May 4
that was seen by several observers to at least May 6.

Snowy Egret (Chatham-Kent): The bird found near Mitchell’s Bay April 26 was
seen sporadically to at least May 8.

Western Cattle Egret (Essex): Mike Burkoski photographed one at Essex
Sewage Lagoons on May 4.
Western Cattle Egret (Huron): Donna Ferguson, Maria Cohoon, and Stephen
Taylor photographed one at Exeter Sewage Lagoons on May 4.

Glossy Ibis (Durham): Jakob Monroe found one at McLaughlin Bay on May 4
that was seen by many to at least May 5.

Black Vulture (Hamilton): George Coker found one at Spencer Gorge that was
subsequently seen by several other observers.

WHITE-TAILED KITE (Norfolk): Rowan Keunen found and photographed one at
nearly the same time Mike Hallett also found it flying over Long Point
Provincial Park on May 6. It was reported a few times later the same day.

SWALLOW-TAILED KITE (Toronto): Kai Sheffield and Ana Luisa Santo
independently found one over the Wet Woods at Tommy Thompson Park on May 8.
Later the same day the bird was also seen from Queens Quay, High Park and
Toronto Islands.

FERRUGINOUS HAWK (Chatham-Kent): Brandon Holden found on near Port Alma on
May 8 that was also seen earlier in the day by Daniel Giesbrecht and Matt
Fuirst. It was subsequently seen in the general area to at least May 9.

SAY’S PHOEBE (Prescott and Russell): Jacques Bouvier photographed one on
May 8 opposite 1471 Conc 1 (Rd 20) between Caledonia Springs and McAlpine.

Loggerhead Shrike (Bruce): Bill Hatten photographed one at Kincardine
Sewage Lagoons on May 7.
Loggerhead Shrike (Essex): Jon and Carolyn G. photographed one on Mersea Rd
21 on May 8.
Loggerhead Shrike (Middlesex): Lucas Foerster found one on Hagerty Rd
outside of Wardsville on May 7 that stuck around long enough for Stephen
Taylor to photograph it.
Loggerhead Shrike (RAINY RIVER): Bridget A photographed on in Sapawe on May
4.

Black-billed Magpie (CHATHAM-KENT): Two birds continued this week from the
Shrewsbury area.

Lark Sparrow (Norfolk): Samuel Perfect photographed one at the tip of Long
Point on May 5.
Lark Sparrow (Thunder Bay): Lindy Wagenaar photographed one on May 5 on
Portage Dr.

Worm-eating Warbler (Essex): One bird was seen by many in the north end of
Tildens Woods on May 4. Possibly the same bird was reported from the same
general area by a couple of observers on May 8.  Kit McCann reported one
from Malden Park in Windsor on May 7.

Kentucky Warbler (Essex): One bird was reported by a few observers around
Sanctuary May 3-8.

Kirtland’s Warbler (Niagara): One bird was found by Kathy Johnson and
identified by Bill Davis at Forty Mile Creek in Grimsby on May 8 and
subsequently seen by many.

Summer Tanager (multiple): There were several reports this week from
southern Ontario including Chatham-Kent, Durham, Essex, Hamilton, Norfolk,
Peel, and Toronto.

WESTERN TANAGER (Kenora): Louis Mombourquette photographed one in Sioux
Lookout on May 6.
WESTERN TANAGER (Thunder Bay): Norma Mourice photographed one in Dorion on
May 5.

Blue Grosbeak (COCHRANE): One bird was photographed by Pierre Noel and
Roxane Filion on May 6 just outside of Timmins.

PAINTED BUNTING (Thunder Bay): A male Painted Bunting was found by the home
owner who’s feeder it is visiting in Jellicoe on May 6 and continued to be
seen and photographed by birders to at least May 8.
